Oakville is a beautiful, tranquil lakeside town on the west shore of Lake Ontario, and it is one of the most livable places in Ontario. The community, parks, trails, and lakeside views have become a part of our daily lives. In recent years, we’ve often seen litter like drink cups and plastic bags carelessly discarded, polluting our environment and ruining the beautiful scenery. Let’s take action together to restore Oakville’s original cleanliness and beauty.

 

Wow Nature invites you to join us in the Glenn Abbey community to clean up litter along the roads and do our part in maintaining a clean environment for Oakville.

Event Details:

  • Date and Time: October 26th, Saturday, 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM
  • Location: Glen Abbey Community Centre and surrounding areas
  • Cost: Free
  • Transportation: Self-driving
  • Outdoor Leader: Lynn ([email protected])
  • Age Requirement: 10-65 years old
  • Meeting Time: October 26th, Saturday, 9:00 AM (Please arrive at the meeting point by 8:50 AM as the event starts promptly at 9:00 AM)
  • Meeting Location: To be provided after registration
  • Hiking Distance: 5 kilometers
  • Outdoor Clothing Requirements: Lightweight outdoor clothing, hiking shoes or non-slip athletic shoes, and a hat
  • Important Reminder: Please bring your own lunch and water
  • Litter Picking Gear: Disposable gloves, large garbage bags, and outdoor picking tools, available at Canadian Tire or Dollarama. Please refer to the suggested item below:

  • Students Participating in Litter Clean-Up: No limit on numbers (no need to send an email)

Reminder: All student volunteers participating in this event will receive a volunteer hour certificate. Certificates for adult volunteers are also available upon request.
